I dont get it, I have had my 2017 Ram Big Horn 4x in the dealers 4 times to fix what they say i9s a leaky 3rd tail light, that leaks every time i wash it. This is ridiculous. can anyone tell me what actions can be taken to insure that it is fixed? besides wasting my time at the dealers?
Thank You.
Paul.

Maybe it isn't the taillight?. Sharkfin the culprit? Do you have a sun roof?

I think at that point, I would put duct tape over the third light, several strips with plenty of overlap, or cut a plastic bag bigger than the light, tape all around. Then wash it, run it through the carwash, whatever. See if the leak is stopped.

Then, at least you will know what you are fighting.

If it's the 3rd brake light it's a super common problem. Simply that the factory 'gasket' sucks. Here's a thread that tells more and a link to some great weather stripping to make your own gasket.

Usually the dealer just gobs silicone all over the light to fix it. Hopefully that's your problem, I did this fix on my truck and finally no more stained wet headliner.

I used a double sided adhesive foam gasket off Amazon when I switched to LEDs in my 3rd light 4 months ago, no leaks.
Had to scrape the original gasket off the light & roof, then cleaned both with alcohol before placing the new gasket on (light first, then press into roof).
Don't lose the little washers for the housing screws, that's a potential leak point.
