So I was on the fence about which muffler to go with. I had a Magnaflow 18'' installed this morning. I left the resonators in place. It sounds so awesome.
Start up is great , low rpm is deep and throaty. When you step on it, it really growls. I have to say I am very pleased with outcome. MDS kick in is not all that terrible either. Just a little press of the accelerator makes it all better.
In cab drone is very acceptable. Guys I really recommend this muffler. It sounds amazing. True the video sound clips does not do it justice.
I was very concerned with how it was going to sound in the cab. No problem there. Hope this will help someone else on the fence about a muffler upgrade.
The stock muffler is humongous. Who would have guessed.

I'll second that! I got the DOD18M kit from mufflex and installed it today also. It sounds great! Couldn't be happier with it.

Definitely closer to the sporty side, not obnoxiously loud but louder than stock. Nice deep tone with out any popping or raspyness.

Sweet, thanks! I'm definitely on the fence. Watching a video just doesn't give me enough real world perspective The redneck sound is great for rompin through the woods or the mud, but not my cup of tea for something I would drive daily. Had obnoxious pipes on my last ride and it was cool for a minute, but I quickly became annoyed by it.

Yeah, for me it was between the 14" and the 18" magnaflow. I was worried the 18" would be too quiet but it turned out to be just right. I wanted something that didn't **** off the neighbors at 430 in the morning when I left for work, but also something that was louder than stock too.

To the original poster, if you have an 8 speed and want to turn off the mds just use the manual downshift button then go back to 8 and it will have all 8 speeds available without mds.

Definitely agree. It just sounds sexy. I too had to make a decision between a Flowmaster Super 44 and the Magnaflow. Was actually going to go with the 24'' Magnaflow but changed to the 18''. I think I made the right decision and I'm happy with my choice. It definitely does not sound stock. Been getting lots of heads turning while cruising the neighborhood today.

Squidbilly I would rate it an 8. Good luck with your choice!!!

Congrats on making the right pick for what you wanted. I have an 18" magnaflow welded in and almost got the 14" but I think the 18" is just enough for me. Plus it sounds great with my 5" tips.

The 5'' tips must make a bit louder. I stuck with the stock pipes for now.
Do you hear much of a difference and if yes in what way.
My exhaust sounds great and next up is speaker upgrades.

The difference maybe a little louder and just a bit of deeper tone, but they do look sweet.

I installed a Mufflex Magnaflow 14M on my 15 1500 4x4 Sport and it's the nicest sound out there. My 03 Hemi 1500 had Flowmaster but I like the Magnaflow better...IMHO

I agree, I had a Flowmaster cat back on my '12 Durango R/T and the Magnaflow 14" on my Ram and would recommend the Magnaflow as far as sound/tone and the drone put out by each one.

are these a magnaflow's a direct bolt on or does some welding/fabrication need to be done?

you should post a YouTube video of the sound clip. I want to hear it.
