Truck now has 700 miles on it and today was the first time on Interstate checking MPGs. 2500 Tradesman, 6.4, 4x4 with 4.10 gears and regular cab. Got 18 mpg running on cruise control 70 mph. Hey I'm happy. Happy Labor Day to all that labor!View attachment 139247
Are you going by what the EVIC says or hand calculating it? If the former, it lies by about 1.5 to 2 MPG too high.
That’s not bad. Since your truck is relitvley light compared to a crew cab long bed. My EVIC is pretty darn close I’ve calculated it a few times now. It’s about .2 - .4 off. I LOVE the reg cab long bed 4x4.The lie

I'm having a hard time following who's got a 1500 and who's got an HD. Mileage #'s are way different

Tomorrow we are heading out for a 360 mile trip north. Flat land, no towing with about 500 lbs passengers and cargo. Will run 65 - 70 with one stop at about 150 miles into trip for leg stretch and fuel. I'll do a hand calculating and lie o meter check, could be interesting and will get results posted. Good day to all!

Yes! EVIC is pretty accurate over time. Not great for city, stop n go, lots of idle. I’ve reset a trip one and ran tank of gas and it’s pretty accurate for what it said.Keep in mind that EVIC is more accurate on long trips where there is little stopping and starting of the engine. This is what I and many others here have found out from keeping records. On a long trip with little stop and starting my EVIC is about .5-1 off, but my records show that it is about 1.5-2.5 off after a week of driving on the same tank.
