Hey all. New to the group.
Have a 1998 1500 with a 318 v6.
REALLY rough running like a cylinder is missing. Code shows missing on cylinder #2.
Plugs and wires have been changed.
Wondering what the next logical step might be.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum.

First, just so you know, a 318 cu. in. MOPAR engine is a V8.

So did you replace the cap and/or rotor? I'd advise looking at those two components plus do a compression test on cyl. #2.

I stand corrected. It is the v6, 175hp.
This was my neighbors truck. He said I can have it if I can fix it. I believe he said he replaced the cap also but not the rotor.

After you do a compression check if you have good compression I would change out the #2 fuel injector. I had a miss fire on #8 cylinder years ago and it ended up being the fuel injector.

Thanks Joe. I had thought about changing the fuel injector.

Don't know how hard the job is but I wonder if you can just swap fuel injectors between cylinders for a test? If the problem moves with the injector, you got it. Might save buying a new one unnecessarily....
