That price is almost in Anderson Lifter territory. Wow....

Depends on where you get them. Sa.e part# as the pic above.

Even cheaper if you get all 16 in a kit.

Still though, that would be way too risky for me when OEM non-mds lifters can be hd for about 500ish.

I would absolutely love it though if he reported back 100,000 miles later that these lifters were holding up like a champ!

My concern though is that they look exactly like the "Engine Tech" and other branded Chinese lifters that I see all over the place. The same exact oil holes in the same place, which aren't present on OEM lifters.

Anderson lifters? Good? Bad?

OE were only $100 more from RockAuto, showing $234 for 5038785AD, and $196 for 5038786AD.

The picture for the 5038786AD shows a single lifter, but I ordered that same # and got a set.

Mine were $234 for each of the sets of 4 lifters and yokes, back at the end of June.

A little over $222 each with the 5% coupon code.
My bad. That was Johnson lifters. From what I have read, are THE top shelf lifter for gen3's. They even have an oiler hole that provides oil directly to the axle / rollers of the lifter.

And at 177,000+ miles……. She lives to drive another day!

Officially put everything all back together. Had a mild panic attack when I couldn’t find where a really long bolt went to after everything was already pretty much put together, but figured it out haha. She’s fired right up and first test idle and drive have been smooth. Almost feels like it has more power. Idles like a kitten, and no more ticking or engine codes.

Big thank you to all who chipped in for feedback and help. Especially EdGs who I feel like was always ready to answer my dumb questions.

There are no dumb questions, only ones you don't ask. I have you beat by a mile in the questions department.

Thank you for the compliments, but they belong to everyone on this site. I couldn't have done my repair or answered your questions if these members hadn't helped me in the very same way. That's why this site is so awesome

You whooped my a$$ in the "getting it done" department. By several miles :Big Laugh:.

Was the left over long bolt one of the ones by the water pump inlet? If it was, I've been there and done that...lol

Awesome you are up and running, great job!

It's a great feeling, isn't it?

Well I can only drive my Fiancées Camry for so long before I lose my mind lol. So I had to get it done quick haha

It was the very same bolt! They really should put a label on that thing haha.

Checking in at almost 1,500 since my rebuild. And I am very pleased so far. I drive a lot for work. Often putting 150-200 miles in a day. Usually driving about 70 miles, stopping at 5 different stores for short periods often 5-15 miles apart, and then 70 miles back home. I usually make this type of trip in this truck at least once or twice a week. And this is done in Houston traffic.

I can feel the difference in power being restored after fixing that cylinder 5 misfire. I had put in a high volume oil pump and I really think that will help preserve these new lifters and camshaft.

This truck has been a warrior for me over the years. And I am determined to see how far over 200k I can get her in the future. Current odometer at this check in is 179,064

Just using this as a check in log for anyone that’s curious about how much life can be extended with these common camshaft repairs and swapping in a HV pump.

Two months since my last check in. Three since the repairs.

Almost 4k miles since my last check in. 5,500 miles since the repairs. Odometer at 183,079.

The engine is still running strong. Still my daily driver obviously since I’m almost to 6k miles in 3 months. Thinking of calculating what my break even point would be for the cost I’ve sunk into parts. My work gives me a car stipend of almost $700 a month so technically I’ve already broke even by now but I’m curious what the savings per mile would be. I just bought a brand new set of tires for it, and she’s riding smooth and I’m back to beating road ragers in Houston when I need that Hemi to kick in.
