In terms of both performance and sound, anyone have any thoughts on a better solution than the above exhaust? Thinking about making the switch here. I've read good & bad on the whole magnaflow 18 vs flowmaster 40, but nobody seems to say anything bad about Borla.

I want louder, but not "I'm 17" loud (won't go over well in my office), but I'd like to free up some power more.

Any thoughts?

Having owned a Borla system, they are well engineered and have absolutely zero drone, however I will never own another one because it's extremely overpriced in terms of what you are getting. There are zero gains over a muffler and y-pipe swap for $300 compared to $1000 for the Borla system. If you want the Borla sound then their mufflers can be bought separately and just leave the factory resonator on.

I went Borla, and yes it was pricey. Although I did get mine for under $800. That Borla sound is pretty distinctive. I get asked all the time. Its fairly quiet cruising the highway as well.

I've done Borla cat backs. In my opinion, they're a great system - just overpriced. So for my last three Ram's I've had the Borla PROXS 40349 Welded in for about the same sound and performance at 1/4 the cost.

I bought the borla xr1 sportsman muffler for my other ram an loved it cost me 135 per muffler an just had em welded in. Very quiet when just idling or cruising but when you hit it it definitely sounds mean a completely different sound than other mufflers

My opinion on Borla systems. If you're going to buy it, and be happy with it, and keep you truck for 5-7+ years, they are 100% worth the money.

They will stay the same, sound near identical and not fall apart on you.
If you replace your truck every few years, I think it's wasted money.

do not waste 1000$ on a brand name... its just a muffler, and piping.

as said before buy the muffler you like, and delete the reso's and BOOM !!! same system for 1/4-1/3 the price.

Save a few more bucks and buy long tube headers and a muffler of your choice.

+1 to this as the route i took and HIGHLY recommend it. Just makie sure you already hate your dealership so you never go back to them
