I know but what was different about this was I had to update the tuner via computer for the vehicle. Then before I could do anything it said "writing vehicle" and it took a while. This is when it over wrote the previous tune thus taking programming it back to stock tune. Only then was I able to use the trinity and install the tune. According to Diablo if your truck was tuned by a friend with his tuner and then you bought a Trinity you could use the trinity on your vehicle, it would just remove overwrite the other tune making it stock again, enabling you to install the canned tunes from trinity.

Now your friends tuner would be in a bind because he couldnt use it on another truck. I know it works that way making the tuner obsolete.

I thought the Trinity pulled the stock tune settings from the truck itself, which if that's the case it couldn't overwrite a pre tuned pcm back to stock.

I won't keep ranting so this will be my last post. Again I have some experience with shift kits before and Im telling you this thing had something in it, it shifted hard you could feel it "jump" into gear. Either way once trinity was installed after update it went away.

I would think the same thing, If you guys dont believe me email tech support at Diablo. I got that response saying it would overwrite another tune. I explained it to the tech and everything and we emailed each other two or three times. If any of you get any different answers please share because I would like to figure out what the H e double hockey sticks is going on lol.


Folks with Bullydog, elaborate on your shifts please? Are they punchy and punctual or do they shift sluggish like factory?

I want to get a tuner and I have had diablo the past two cars. Worked great. I know they give you a credit toward a new tuner sending ur old on back. But I like the bully dog for some odd reason.

I didn't feel any real chance from stock maybe slightly firmer. But there was no way to change the firmness of the shifts just rpm's at WOT.

Yepo! It shifted like my 2wd drive truck again. Once I updated the tuner and then put in the vehicle, it was back to regular shift patterns. It was noticeable before that I was wondering as to if the shifts were too hard and might cause problems. Thats how much of a difference it was so I know its not my imagination.

Here is a screen shot from performance testing on bully dog. 2012 QC 4wd express with s&b intake only. 30 degrees out, regular tune 89 octane.

That's a great run for just an intake and tuner. It only gets better from there.

Thanks! After that I filled up with 93 octane and tuned with the performance tune. Will post up a pic tomorrow at work now.

I've been running the performance tune for a couple of days. I haven't had a chance to get on it yet from a stand still but getting up to speed you can definitely tell that you have something waiting to be unleashed. I've been taking it easy so far but can't wait to go WOT

Just ordered one for my 2012 sport
I cant wait to get it. I hope it works and doesnt turn out to be a $400+ paperweight.
My truck is completely stock...so hopefully thats ok

Just make sure you download the update installer and update the software first. It might take a couple of tries to get it to take. You'll be fine with no mods.

First im new to Ram Forums so hi to all.. I love my 12 express reg cab.. all i have done to it so far is remote start and flowmaster swap out/resonator delete. What sort of real numbers performance gains should i expect from this bullydog programmer? Hp/tq gains? mpg gains/losses? improvement on factory 0-60? im not sure what the 0-60 is bone stock with 355's... thanks!

I'm not sure about what the hp/tq numbers are but I am impressed with it. I haven't been able to get any 0-60 times yet. I actually gained just about 1 mpg during the winter. I can't wait to see what I'll get with warmer weather.

Bullydog saw 32hp/28tq on the dyno with this tuner. I actually spoke to the guy who truck was used for the testing last week, and he was there to watch the pull. This has been a great performing tuner for the money.
