2017 Ram 3500 regenerated first time at 34,000 miles. No warning, nothing on the dash just ran like S$&T!. Thought the injection pump was failing , then remembered regeneration. Drove 30 miles at 20 to 30 MPH to keep rpms above 1500. After 10 minutes a message came on in the dash and the check engine light came on. Appears to have finished regenerating, but the check engine icon is still on after 6 starts and stops. Seems to accelerate OK but with more turbo lag than before. Ideas???????

That was not your first regen, these trucks are programmed to do a regen about every 25 engine run hours, sounds like you have some other issues going on and should get the codes read

I highly doubtful that was your first regen cycle in 34K miles. A regen will happen quietly "in the background" while your driving and you didn't know it was happening. You'll notice the fuel economy will dip during a regen, you can also see them happen if you have something like Torque Pro app to watch the exhaust EGTs. Only time you'll see something on the dash concerning a regen is if there is or potentially a problem with it.
