Does anyone else feel like their vented seats aren't working? I know the fan is on but lots of times i cant feel a thing. I know they work with the temperature of the cabin. But there have been times Its really noticeable and lately it doesn't seem noticeable at all. Which bring me to my next question. Does anyone else s truck take a little bit to start cooling when its really hot outside. Like 100+ hot?

1. Don't have those seats-couldn't say
2. Always. Same as any other vehicle when it's 100+

I know that second one is kinda silly but it just seems like it takes a while for it to get to blowing really cold air. I guess I am kinda spoiled. My previous ride was a 4runner and its AC would freeze a polar bears balls off.

I found the cooled seats a bit of a let down... You have to have the AC on and set cold AF before you really feel them. That said, when I'm wearing under armour shorts, it's pretty noticeable. I have no complaints about how fast the air starts blowing cold tho.

The a/c does not work well at idle for two reasons: the air compressor is not spinning very fast and the condenser requires air flow to remove heat. This is why your a/c is very cold when driving at 50mph etc for example. Thank god for auto climate control in my Laramie.

I think the cooled seats work pretty well, especially on high. On low it's more subtle. Crazy hot here right now.

I hit the remote start about 15-30 seconds before I enter,,,
The slight bit of coolness in the face is soooo much better than a big old belch of superheated air,,,

Takes a while to cool everything down inside as it's all sizzling hot,,, (102 predicted here today)

I've takes to my dealer about the cooled seats not seeming to work well. Look for this next time you get in the truck and it's hot. Touch the seat then turn the vented seat on. After a minute feel the seat again. It'll be much cooler, so I guess they work! Lol

As for the AC, in my longhorn it always works very well. I've left work when the trucks been in the hot sun all day (28-30°C) and it's already blowing cold air after 200 feet of driving. Usually I'll open the windows until it starts blowing cold to let some of the heat out.

I haven't been in a RAM with cooled seats, but did drive a Durango that had them... it seemed like it took it forever to feel the effects of it too.

I did have a salesman tell me (while truck shopping) that the fan actually sucks the air into the seat where you are sitting and blows it out toward the back. He called it the "fart blower". Not sure if that's how it actually works, but makes sense as to why you can't really "feel" the air as much. I've been in vehicles where it blows the cold air up through the seat and it was much more noticeable.

The cooled seats have nothing to do with the A/C, all they do is displace air by pulling it in from the seat surface to the underside and back. They're not air conditioned, just vented. I have them on my truck and I find they do an ok job. I notice in the most when it's really hot out, don't stick to the seats.

As for the A/C, temperature output is directly related to ambient temp. Newer systems don't blow nearly as cold as the old R12 systems. When it's really hot, it takes a few minutes for the evaporator to draw out all the hot air.

Even though the seats are not blowing true AC when I get in my Granite Chrystal truck with the black leather and turn on the seat coolers it sure feels like I have cold AC blowing up my rear and on my back. 100 times better than a sweaty body on hot leather with the seat cooling than to not have it. When I didn't on other vehicles I found myself on hot days leaning forward with my for arms across the wheel letting any cool air circulate behind my hack to cool off.

And to the OP. When it is 100*+ outside, do remember you look to have a black truck. I'd be that make the inside that much hotter than say a white truck.

I have a black truck and it does great, don't take long at all to get cooled off maybe a min and being a mega cab it's surprisingly how fast it cools the back, my truck been reading 117 -124 the past two weeks when I get in, it sits n a hot ass plant all day long and after goin through the carwash and getting on road it drops around 100, no complaints here
