Hey all I've been getting this code only recently P0522 for the oil pressure sensor. When I remote start the truck when it is completely cold I notice that the oil pressure gauge says it has no pressure at all and the check gauges light shows. I reset the battery yesterday due to some other ABS and speedo codes which worked but the oil pressure still wont read correctly. I reached down by the sensor and it is plugged in correctly. Anyone happen to know how to make sure the wires to the PCM are reading good and that the sensor is bad? Thanks

To check the integrity of a circuit you'll need a DMM and long leads. Unplug the wires at the guage and sensor. Place the DMM positive lead at one end of the wire and the negative at the other end of the same wire and set the DMM to ohms. It should read like a half ohm-ish. Do this for the signal and ground wires. You con look up a how to video on YouTube and it will explain better and how to do more checks. Good luck. I've read about no oil pressure issues and it's scary.

Replace it with an oem one. It's a common problem. Hasn't happened on my truck but did on my Charger. Always fun to get the code and have the EVIC telling you you're pegged at 99psi lol.

Well I took it out about a week ago and found out it had water in it for some reason which really scared the **** out of me. I did an oil change and cleaned out the sensor with brake cleaner. Truck ran fine and the oil pressure still works. I drove to Silver lake which is a good 250 mile drive from my house and back. Had no issues whatsoever, no CEL, no oil pressure issues, no check gauges. I did an oil change again and found no water, took the sensor out and no water :/ It was sitting for a while because the trans was blown so I don't know if that had anything to do with water in the sensor?

Yeah that's the exact same thing I experienced. Its not really hard to clean that sensor out just move the air box out of the way and get an adjustable wrench to take it out. Get brake cleaner and just clean out the outlet on the sensor and reassemble. Just use non chlorinated brake cleaner, it wont damage the electronics and it evaporates fast.
