I have a 2007 ram 1500….AC is cool but not cold. It has plenty of Freon. Replaced a leaking Evap cooler and heater core. It seems though the high side Freon pressure is low….around 200 at 90F.
Compressor bad ?

When you replaced the evaporator and the heater core did you replace the accumulator and the liquid line?

The liquid line contains the orifice tube and the accumulator is now almost 15 years old if it has never been replaced.

When you say your high side pressure is 200psi @ 90°F is that with the engine at idle?

What is the low side/suction pressure with the engine at idle?

Have you checked the condenser fan to make sure it is working?

Compressor could be bad or it could just be the clutch not engaging correctly. Can you see it engaging ? Also does the compressor have power to it ? If you do have to replace the compressor, make sure to replace the receiver/drier like mentioned above. If the compressor goes bad, it will shoot metal through the system and the screen in the receiver will trap most of it :)

What are your high side and low side pressures at idle with the AC on, turned all the way down and fan on the highest setting? Do you hear the clutch engage? If you do, are you seeing the pressures move during clutch engagement?
