I've got an early 4th Generation '10 Laramie Crew Cab. I've observed a few things about it that I'm curious about:

1. My previous Mopar's all had the ability to set a mileage tracker for "Service" (oil changes). You'd reset it to your desired oil change interval and it would count down the miles to your next change. As you approached zero miles it would begin to warn you. After going through all the menu options on the small display in the gauge cluster, it doesn't appear that the 2010 Ram has anything like this. Is this indeed true? I always loved this feature because it meant I could ditch the ugly OCI reminder stickers on the windshield.

2. Just about every 2010 Laramie I looked at had an OEM backup camera in the tailgate handle... except for the one I bought. The handle has no camera, and therefore I assume the head unit doesn't support it either. Is this something that can be added later, or does it involve having to run a whole new wiring harness down the side of the truck?

3. The automatic climate control auto mode doesn't shut the air conditioner off, even if you select a temperature quite higher than the ambient. For example, yesterday it got pretty warm out when I drove home from work, so setting the temperature at 70 caused it to switch the A/C compressor on. This morning when I was headed to work, it was 42 degrees. I noticed that with the automatic temperature control unit still on 70... it still displayed the snowflake showing the A/C in operation... despite it clearly needing to be generating heat. Not a problem, just something I found interesting. I'm curious to know why it can power the A/C on... but not off.e7a95b0042692949d25f67901976d0d8.jpg

I don't know of a way to set the oil change interval to anything specific. It just shows up when the algo0rithm tells it to.

Not sure if all the wiring is there, but in a laramie, you should have the touch screen stereo so it'll support the camera. There's a thread here somewhere that shows how to install the OEM backup camera.

I have the auto climate as well, and yes, the snowflake seems to be on all the time, even when it's putting out heat. Someone said it was using the A/C to dry out the air, especially for the defrosters.

Dang. Seems like a great way to go through A/C compressors like water through a sieve. Wouldn't really be that big of a deal if those things weren't a few hundred bucks a pop not including labor haha...

I'd do it myself before paying someone, but I know what you mean. I've known a couple people that will pull the wire to the compressor clutch during the winter to keep it from coming on. Not sure if that causes issues of it's own though.
