2010 Ram 1500 5.7 I was replacing pads/rotors today on this truck they where like metal on metal guy who owned it before me abused the fk outa it. Everything was going great pumped brakes up after I did the fronts felt great did the rear passenger side and then brakes went almost to the floor no matter how many times I pumped it. After confirming the caliper is not seized ect I tried to bleed the caliper barely getting any fluid out even with petal pressed. I un hooked the rubber line verified that's not the issue so what gives??? Maybe something happened when I pressed the caliper in all the way? It was very far out had like no pad does this truck have a proportioning valve? I am at a loss here bad master cylinder blew a seal maybe? Its just so weird it was fine until I compressed the pass side rear caliper.

I assume there is fluid in the MC, right?
Both front and rear chambers have fluid in them?
And neither ever ran low on fluid during the pump-up process, right?

I guess if it were me, I would get a helper and try again the pump and bleed process. Make sure there is plenty of fluid in the reservoir. If you don't get any fluid out, that kind of points to the M/C. I would hook up a scanner and perform the bleed process of the ABS. But you should be able to pump them up and get a little pressure. If you don't have a scanner to bleed the ABS, might be time to unhook the lines of the mc and try to bench bleed (or replace). If you do remove the lines, be careful not to over-torque the flare nuts when you re-connect. You don't want to crack the flare.

W/o seeing your technique, ...just don't pump too fast. Press and let up somewhat slowly. And repeat. Obviously don't stab the pedal repeatedly. Not saying you are or were...

Yes the MS was full had someone help pump brakes today also bled system with scanner still not much fluid so popped the line off master cylinder looks like not much coming out the rear port. I ordered new MS should fix it I hope very weird guess it was just odd timing seal or something failed while replacing rotors.

That is odd. Glad you got a handle on at least the MC. You could try to bench-bleed the MC in case there was air trapped in one of the chambers. But if you've already ordered a new one ...go with that.

If the new MC does the trick, consider it good fortune that it occurred in your driveway and not some other location, right?

Considering it's a 2011, I probably would have replaced the mc too. Good luck. Plz let us know how the repair turns out. :)

Was the Front Caliper hanging when you bled it or in it's spot?

You bled brakes by pump method, you used a bottle of brake fluid and the line was submerged the entire time?
