2011 Ram 1500 broken storage handles under rear seats.

Hello everyone,

Both of the handles on the rear storage compartments have broke. The big compartment is shut and I can't get it open, the smaller one is open and won't latch shut but I am able to just put the seat down to close it. Looks like the latches are about $50 a piece which is pretty step but is it as easy as just replacing those latches and will I be able to for the large compartment that I am unable to get open?

Seen a thread at one point that the latches were the same as marine/boat compartment latches. Cheap way to make them locking as well waiting to order some to try out myself.

the marine lock version you swap the latch for the locking handle. those are for the storage bins in the floor. I'm not sure this works, as I don't have any storage like the OP is describing.
