ok so i tried searching the forum, didnt find anything.

I currently have the stock non amped system, and not NAV. I was wondering if its possible to take a nav HU out of a wrecked truck and install it into mine and have it work. also the amped systems does the deck have output i could hook to an amp i currently have in the back running 2-10 inch subs. right now there hooked up with a line out converter to RCA to feed the amp, and a add a fuse for the amp to turn on. have a bass knob on the rcas to be able to adjust the bass, but id like to be able to do it via the deck, but want to keep the "stock" look.

If it wont do what i want i plan to install a ddin kenwood head unit. but want to look into my options first.

Others may chime in, but I'm sure it's possible. However, you may need the Alpine amp as well. I think all OE Nav units also have the crappy amp. It will not have RCA pre-outs, but you can add your amp/sub via other methods (LOC, PAC harness, etc). I would highly suggest going complete aftermarket in your case. It would be much easier, sound 100% better, and may be cheaper in the end. I almost wish I had the base system. Then I could justify replacing everything. I have the 430N. It take a lot of time and money to get decent sound out of it, but I'll never replace the HU.

yeah i figured id end up going with the aftermarket, ive had differnt ones over the past 8 years, from complete competition setups in my old ION, to just sound quality in my ranger. now looking for a mix of both worlds in the ram
