Hey all. My '11 Sport's leather seat cooling doesn't seem to be working very well. They worked great when I bought the truck two years ago (to the day tomorrow actually), but lately I can hardly notice it. The passenger side seems to be a little better than the drivers, but it doesn't get used nearly as much. I can hear the fans underneath on both high and low so they are working, just not pushing much air. I can see what looks like filters under there, is it just a matter of changing those or is there something else I can do?

Also, can the seat cushions be swapped side to side? I just noticed a small crack in the leather on the driver side today and I'd like to swap sides if I can. I did it in my old 2nd gen that had a tear on the side, but these things are wired up like they came off the space shuttle or something. Thanks for any help guys, love the forum!

either the filter needs to be changed, or there is sand / dirt / debris clogging the perforations in the leather

Thanks. Any idea how I go about changing them? I kinda felt around a bit but I didn't want to break anything if they weren't supposed to come off. Is the seat back a separate setup or all one deal? I'll have a closer look tomorrow now that I know the filters can be changed. Not much room under there though. I don't really want to remove the seats, but I loooove the cooling on hot days. I usually run my a/c on the floor for a while and I feel like this helps with the seat cooling but not sure if it's all in my head or what. I've heard both that they blow out towards your ass and that they suck in through the seat so I'm not really sure.

ventilated seats work simply by pulling air away from you, not pushing air towards you. therefore the A/C on the floor wouldn't add any additional seat cooling.

its probably too tight under there to access the filter with the seat still bolted in, although I do not work on these vehicles so I can't provide any further input.

I'll do some poking around tomorrow and see what I can figure out. Thanks again. Anyone else ever deal with this?

Racefan, did you ever have any luck in improving your cooled seats.

I have noticed the same thing in my 2011.

I did not yet, I kinda forgot about it. If I do figure anything out I will let you know though.
