I have a 2012 2500 6.7 and I love my diesel but every time I head to the mountains to go hunting my dpf clogs up after a few hours on the back roads. To do the regen I have to mash my truck down the bumpy dirt roads and it's not good. Is there any fix for this problem. I live in California so no delete kits.... Any help or advice is appreciated

Why don't you delete it and put it back to stock once a year for inspection?

How long is the ride up there? If you can't burn it clean on the Hwy or its regening too often it might have to be changed out. The DPF on my '08 got clogged up and was replaced under warrenty (yes, there were a lot more issues back them). They don't last forever and you might have one that's too clogged up to clean itself.

I know I'd try a nice loooong trip down the interstate first, preferably working the truck hard.

I'm trying to stay legal at all times. Putting on/ taking off parts every year doesn't sound fun. The truck gets plenty of work for 1.5 hours pulling grades from the valley through the foothills in the way to the mountains so it should be doin it's thing.

If you're actually pulling and working the truck, you shouldn't be having dpf issues. You may have an injector leaking. Have you noticed any extra smoke? Anything that might be making the filter clog quicker?

DPF shouldn't require a regen that often. Might be something wrong with the fuel system as mentioned or a sensor, or I think the regen interval can be changed, but don't quote me on that.. just something I remember reading

When I pull my toy hauler I have no problems with the filter... I assume cause the engine is working harder. But when it's just the truck it clogs up after a few hours of driving less than 10 mph. Even when I leave it in 4 low and run the rpms at 2000-2500.

Still under warranty? I'd drive it right back to the dealership and make it their problem. Hell with that noise! Pay that kind of money for a headache like that? Hell no. Stupid federal regs.
