2012 Quad Headlights

This is probably a dumb question, but are the high beams also modified or just the low beams when converting to HID or projectors?

Only if you get HID high beams put in. I have Daytime Running Lights as I live in Canada, it's just the high beam on at low power. So I have a regular halogen high beam and 99% of my light comes from the projector

99% of the time we leave the high beams alone, and run the same setup as Alex is running there.

i seriously need you guys to make me a set of quads for my 2012 HD.

is it possible to get 55w high and low beam projector HID installed? will the factory housings be okay at those temps?

this would be 2 projectors per housing.

the smaller projectors that fit in the high beam spot will not do well with 55W HIDs.

Are you in Canada? Really no reason to have quad projectors in the states on those........(other than looks?)

I know you boasted about your projectors compared to others on the market. I don't want you to think I doubt you because I don't. I'm trying to educate myself. I love the look of yours, I just want to know what the advantages are. I already know I want the 55watt HIDs with HID fogs eventually. I live far away from street lights on a dirt road. Those 40" strip LED off road lights are sweet but super expensive. I know you mentioned not needing quad projectors with 55watt HIDs above but would quad 55watt HIDs be too hot in your headlight housings?

1. you can see farther, and it has more of a sharp cutoff compared to oem or hid drop ins,
2. glass

and to answer the last question, get the 40 inch led bar, they will out do a hid any day. so much brighter, also, you can run the 55 watt in the housing, they hids are actually more cool than regular halogens, meaning you can put your hand over the light, and not burn yourself.

On the quad 55w, I say no there because the little dinky projector that will fit in the highs, I don't trust it with 55w, but......hell - they make it to work with halogens too. So, it might do it, but.........eh.

On the projectors vs the eBay specials - the biggest thing is that mine are bixenon, and they are designed for HIDs. The time was spent to tune and tweak them to work correctly, vs just tossed together at the cheapest rate possible. I have had a LOT of customers go from their Recon / Spyder, etc to these - and the LOVE the difference in light output. (and yes, they ran HIDs in their eBay specials too!)

is there anything cool we can do with the spot in the high beam spot? i dont really care about DRL but its whatever. i am gonna get a set of lights to you as soon as i can figure out what is the best route.

Correct, the projectors are bixenon, and in a "normal" quad light (when your truck came with quads), they will work as a bixenon setup. The lower hi beam spot is typically left alone. In Canada its the DRL (or it your truck is coded for DRLs). We do a LOT of the bixenon setups with 55W.

sorry for blasting you alot of questions...

do you have any good ideas what we could put in the hi beam location if a good set of 55w bi xenons were placed in the low beam position?

are these plug and play? do i need to splice anything for power or do i just plug right into the stock wire harness at the light? are the ballasts already wired in or would they need to be spliced?

Well, it depends. If you are in Canada, I'd leave them alone.......or disable your DRLs.

In the states, run 55W without projectors (no need for a projector when its on the highs really).

Plug n play - as close as we can get! No splicing! You'll have a wiring hanress, with a few grounds, tap the power, plug the rest in!

how about full size bixenon in the low beam reflector and a mini bixenon in the high beam reflector?

could this work with both lights functional either hi or low beam simultaneously?

i would just hate to leave that high beam reflector untouched after having taken the time to send it to you for work.
