On November 27th 2012 I perchased a New 2012 Ram 1500 Express from Orlando Dodge Chrysler Jeep. In mid December of 2013 with 23k miles(well under the factory warranty) I experienced the vehicle go into "Transmission Limp Mode" and the Check Engine light came on. The vehicle would not shift up or down from (4th) gear while driving normal with no payload or towing. I made an appointment and dropped off the truck at Orlando Dodge's Service department. After having the truck for 2 days they informed me that a Factory Representative Wanda Cunningham, would need to look at the vehicle and she would'nt be available till Jan 9th 2014 Over 15 days away.
On Jan 9th I was taken into the New service managers office of Brian Menihan with Wanda Cunningham and forced to sign documents otherwise they would'nt even look at my truck.
After about an hour of going round and round with them getting nowhere, I was charged a 120.00 Diagnostic Fee to find out my truck would not be covered under the Ram Factory Warranty. Furthermore they did not provide me with a diagnostic readout to show cause not to warranty my vehicles malfunction. My truck is not driveable and is currently parked awaiting a resolution to this problem.
My understanding is that the Truck should be covered under the 3 year 36k mile and 5 year 100k mile Powertrain Warranty and the fact that the truck has an Exhaust and Drop kit should not matter because of the Magnuson Moss Act.
