2013 3.0 radio

Who here agrees with me that for a 37k+ truck that this radio is a POS. I would have though with all the new laws and everyhing that these trucks would come with at least bluetooth and even steering wheel audio controls. My buddies base model carolla at 14k even came with bluetooth. Oh and then they make it almost impossible if not way to expensive to even swap out head units to get a decent one in there. Biggest thing I hate about my ram other than the stupid black plastic piece above the chrome bumper. Well that's my rant for today.

I would be happy if it just showed the time of day when the radio is turned off.

The dealer had to replace 2 of these pos radios. I wasn't waiting to see if the third worked!! I just put in a nice JVC system and added a backup camera.
That radio is pure factory junk!

I agree. I am very let down with the 3.0 radio in my 2500.
The unit in my '11 Express (which was 1/2 the cost) was far nicer.

Both stereos would rattle the door panels, which was VERY annoying.
Quality Control my ass.

Im surprised this radio didn't come with a tape deck it so lame. I looked into swapping it our for a double din unit but after price of new HU plus harness and all the extra's it just isnt work it. Might look into getting a Parrot mini asteroid or novero car kit instead.

No one put a gun to my head to buy my truck. I was just surprised that with such a nice truck it didnt even come with hands free features. My buddies both bought base model vehicles one a corolla and other a sierra and they both had it. Just though that with todays laws car manufacturers would add some features thats all toofart. didn't think this thread would upset people as much as it seems to have upset you.

I'm not upset at all. I just wonder why you chose to buy something then come here and complain about it.

My dealer offered me a truck and it had that 3.0 radio in it and I said "are you ******* kidding me, that radio is a POS" and chose a truck that had something I wanted instead.

They did add some features -- they are in the 5.0 and 8.4. But RAM still offers a barebones radio for those people who want low-frills low-cost stuff.

If all you are looking for is bluetooth, add a Parrot. That's what I did in my 2007, and it worked very well. Not as good as a factory installed system, mind you, but it was a good little addition to that truck, and it gave me hands free, as well as an SD card reader and aux jacks to play my iPod through my factory stereo. It looks like they have added some newer models that look really nice, like the Asteroid, but I don't have experience with that one.

Yeah I'm looking at the asteroid. Looks like a good system. That or local bestbuy recommended the novero car kit
