2013+ Steering bracket?

My 2014 has what looks like a bracket that is for the old hydraulic power steering setups. Does this bracket serve any purpose other than maybe hold a wire harness up?

Seriously is this a dumb question to ask or does nobody actually know?

It only holds the wiring harness up. That harness used to clip onto the power steering reservoir bracket but since it's gone and FCA didn't feel like redesigning the wiring harness they just added the stamped steel bracket. It's just there to prevent the harness from shifting backwards and sitting on the front of the exhaust manifold.

Oh ok makes sense, just wondering. It was an eye sore to me and was trying to figure out if I could just remove it..

Chrome it then it won't look so bad....
