I just picked up a 2014 1500 with a squeak that seems to come from the windshield where it meets the cowl / dash. When it is warm outside, no squeak. However, cold temps (as has been last few days) the squeak is constant and seems to only make noise when there is body flex, like in a turn or uneven road. A "bump" in the road does not cause the squeak, so I am not leaning towards something loose in the dash. I cannot reproduce the noise tapping on the dash or from underneath the dash.

Has anyone else experienced this?

The reason I suspect the windshield is that I had a Yukon Denali once that had a similar noise and it turned out to be a "loose" windshield. The windshield had been replaced due to rock damage and was not seated correctly. It had to be replaced again.

I had three of the white spacers, and two of the black retainers. One of the black retainers was broken. I just popped them both out and used a small cutting blade to scrape out the white spacers.

Getting the wiper arms off is a challenge, but I had a steering wheel puller that was small enough to use.

Two days of very cold weather and NO SQUEAK!

I wonder if this may be the issue with a rattling type noise on my 16. We just got our first cold weekend and yesterday it started, but really only at highway speeds. Sounds like it is coming from the front of the dash on the drivers side.

Can't get that link to load right now.

My bet would be yes. The more I researched this, the more threads I found on it. I'm surprised this isn't a sticky.

Mine didn't start until the first cold day. Went away over 70 degrees.

I am a rattle freek, so any little rattle or squeak has to be squashed.

So am I. Especially on a brand new truck. Now if that link would work so I can see it.

Hi develand,

Was this something you were looking to fix yourself, or were you considering working with a Ram dealership for diagnosis? If you need any help on the dealership end, please feel free to let me know and I can follow up.

Just have to see right now. The big thing is the dealer wants the truck most the day. But I need the truck for work and sometimes a loaner is hard to get.

But I may try and look into it myself first.

Bumping an old thread -- as I had the "windshield creaking when cold" issue. I've only had my Ram a little over 2 months, and 2000 mi. It was very annoying. The windshield would "creak" when the body was flexing. I attempted to remove my windshield cowl last night, but I didn't have a puller for the wiper arms. I did remove all the black panel fasteners, and this loosened the cowl some. I was able to remove the black positioning block and glue on the passenger's side. On the driver's side, I was only able to remove the glue, and broke a piece of the block off. This morning, no creaks/squeaks! I really think only the glue needs to be removed, as it was the only thing rubbing against the windshield. However, the blocks could potentially rattle. If it does, I'll get a puller to completely remove the wiper arms/cowl.
