2014 HEMI Tick

My son has a 2014 Ram 1500 Hemi with 160,000 miles. Engine light is on and running rough with ticking. Im aware of the MDS - Multi-Displacement System and the issues it causes. I wanted to see if anyone has replaced the lifters, rockers and camshaft? Did it resolve the engine issue avoiding replacing the engine? How many labor hours would it be for a mechanic to complete?
