Wow....just wow. Glad your safe and sound. Now I have to ask, not to be nosy or anything, but did u have gap insurance, or anything that will cover you so you can get another truck?

Now in a situation like this where clearly something was wrong with the truck, a manufacturer's defect for sure, how would a potential lack of GAP play into it? Frighteningly, someone could have been seriously injured or worse.

Well if it starts getting nasty remind Chrysler that it's good you did walk away safe and sound cause otherwise can you imagine the law suite.....
...makes replacing a truck for you seem like a nice idea, and cheaper.
Hope they replace your truck for you.

Totally took my breath away! Goose bumps all over. That's so scary!

I had some issues with a SRT-4 involving a split o-ring on a fuel injector and the exhaust manifold.....

Not sure what your lemon laws are but this reads line for line. MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE! That's a cut and dry one my friend.

Of course it's easy for us to say everything will be ok, but man I couldn't see how Ram wouldn't take care of this.

Holy crap did I mention that's freakin scary!

I don't think you'll have to mess with your insurance or gap at all.

if you were having all these issues with your truck, im sure its gonna be Chrysler/Fiat fault and they will have to replace the unit.

The way I think this will work is that the bank will refinance your loan with the new vehicle

I can honestly say that in my time on forums, I have NEVER seen a single truck burst into flames like that. That's ****** crazy man. Glad you're alright and hope that the dealer then Chrysler come through for you.

There was a 2500 PW on here recently that did. I don't remember who's it was though. Scary stuff!

Very glad you came out unharmed from this.

As a silver lining, at least the wiring issue won't be hounding you anymore.
Gen IV Rams did indeed have a couple transmission related fires, but this is very different.

It certainly does not plague the vehicles.

The only thing you might be responsible for under the lemon law are the miles that were on the truck. It's a very very small amount per mile though. In GA they actually give you a copy of the lemon law with every new car purchase. You actually have to sign something saying you received it as well.

The Serious Safety Hazard Test
A serious safety hazard is a life-threatening malfunction that substantially impedes your ability to control or operate the vehicle normally, or that creates a substantial risk of fire or explosion. You pass this test if you have taken your vehicle to the dealership two or more times for the repair of a serious safety hazard

■once during first 12 months or 12,000 miles, and
■once more during the 12 months (or 12,000 miles) following the first repair attempt, and
■the problem continues to exist

That's in Texas.
