Thanks again Tom!I'm dropping it off at the post office in a regular envelope with the small rubber part inside a smaller one with 3 US stamps. Should be fine IMO.

My 18 has the recallThanks Sheets7777..... very informmative videos on the problem.
If the problem is with 2013 to 2017 models, I wonder why the recall was only for 2015 to 2017??
Don't you just love what some of our nextdoor neighbours want for shipping?Thats a bit of a problem for me Jay.
The small part you do need is a "recall" part and not for sale at the dealer.
I can't get one because my vehicle VIN/year is not in the recall.
I contacted a seller in the US (I'm from Canada) and they had one for $1 but wanted $26 for shipping!!!
Maybe I'll just unhook it......
Curious..... I know there was a recall for the Ram 2015-2017 Tailgate Latch (Recall #U74) but I have a 2014 Express that's doing it.
At first, I'd be driving down the road and when the auto door locks kicked in, the tailgate would drop. Scares the crap out of me as I keep thinking I've been rear ended!
Now when I walk away from my truck and hit the door lock on the FOB the tailgate is dropping also. (and embarrassing...)
Is there anyone else with a 2014 that's having the same problem???
Hi Neon,

$27 for a part you can’t get anywhere else that will solve your problem sounds like a deal to me...Thats a bit of a problem for me Jay.

I am in Sask. Ca and we Canadians get screwed everytime on postage. I sent a small box the size of a shoe box 150 miles with 3K insurance, I could have drove down and back or what it cost me, $85.oo What is this block suppose to do?, I have not seen video, have trouble with the B.A. computer .In principal .... yes
Morally... NO
The primary reason we (at the dealership) can't sell recall parts is most all of them are restricted and we can only purchase a small number of parts on a weekly basis. Some even require entering a VIN for the vehicle to be repaired before we can order a part for it. In most cases, we have need for many more each week than we can get. The U74 restriction has been relaxed a little bit now from allowing 5 per week to now 20 per week. For liability reasons, FCA does not allow us to sell recall parts even if there were no retrictions, but some dealers disregard this and sell them anyway.
Thanks again Tom!
To funny Tom! Part arrived Friday and I JUST came in from installing it. Piece of cake and looks like it's working just fine.Did you ever get the part?
