i have a 2014 Outdoorsman that I bought new in March 2015. It is a Canadian truck, serviced in Canada, and driven in Canada although I don’t think it makes much of a difference for the TPMS.

The truckcsme with LT tires and the TPMS is set at 43lbs and comes on at -20% like it should. I’ve since stopped towing and we’ve switched to P rated winter tires and probably will go with P rated summer tires too this spring. I would like to change the TPMS to 35lbs -20% like all the other models that sell with P rated tires come with. I’ve talked to the dealer and they are not able to do it.

I am wondering if there is any option out there to go in and change the setting the TPMS setting? The truck has a meat care warranty until 8 years as part of the deal so I don’t want to get into overwriting entire emcms, bcms, etc for just this one setting as it is nice to get the recalls, software updates, etc done as needed without having to worry. If it is just changing a setting for the TPMS and doesn’t affect anything else I would do that and even go back in once in a while,to correct it if need be, but when my wife takes it in to Ram I don’t want to have any other issues.

AlphaOBD would be a good way to reset the TPMS thresholds.

Another way is an Autel tool you can rent from member 4x4x4 here on the forum.

FCA techs can no longer touch the portion of the BCM where you would adjust those settings.

MADDOG: I tried to get my dealership to change my DRL's to park lights instead of Headlights, and was told: we can no longer access or change, wow, talk about FCA not allowing customer service, all IMHO.....

And yet, my parking lights stay on (fronjt only like drl's), whenever truck operated, regardless of headlight setting and whether or not I have DRL's turned on/off (my headlights), man what a PITA

I can see FCA eventually not allowing ANY sales codes to be added other than ones that are available in kits that they offer, for example, the remote start kit, trailer tow mirrors kit, and trailer brake controller kit.

Thanks for all the replies. The Alfa OBD seems like a good tool and decent price. I’ll have to try and get the 4 digit PIN number from parts first as that will be the hardest part I imagine. Once I have that I will go ahead.

There's a helpful hint you can use when requesting the PIN from the dealer. Take a look at the AlfaOBD thread and the link below:

https://www.ramforum.com/threads/alfaobd.123982/page-68#post-1820452

Which states near the bottom:

For all non-Service Repair Authorization Pin requests, each dealership must verify the vehicle ownership by personally reviewing:
The vehicle owner’s government issued picture ID (Driver’s License)
The vehicle's registration or other proof of ownership. Please
note that vehicle registration should have normal markings from the State or Province
that issued the registration.
