2014 Trans Issue

I have an annoying issue. When slowing with someone taking a turn in front of me I get a shuttle shift between first and second gear at a certain speed. Basically a very quick back and forth between the two gears. Its done it since new. The dealer has tried reprogramming twice and hasn't helped at all. Anyone have any ideas? I'm thinking its something in the valve body

Did they put the trans in relearn mode ?

Dodge needs to get that little annoyance rectified. I have six gear manual transmissions in both the Mustang, and the Wrangler. I will not put either of those two into first gear until I am at a complete stop. If you're rolling, even just a little bit, second works just fine.

It seems to me, it wouldn't be that hard to program that 8 speed to NOT go into first until the gas petal is pressed while at a stop.

Whats weird is not all of them do this, mine has never done this or anything weird.

That's why I suspect issue occurs in the learning mode.

Yes they did. It didn't feel any different both times it was reprogrammed

It does, that's the strange part. It's a 2500 6.4l 6 speed auto 66rfe

That's why I suspect issue occurs in the learning mode.

This has happened since day one, and I'm at 104,000 miles now!

If you are going to change the valve body (Sharadon) I'd change the shift solenoid as well while the valve body is off. But if it were me, I would likely tune the shift points first.

The 2014's don't have a locked pcm right guys?

I wonder what you could get a valve body for at the junk yard? I wonder if they would want you to take the whole tranny.

Once I get the truck back from new cam and lifters I'll be taking the valve body out. Going to renew seals on pistons and new solenoid pack, on recommendation from my trans guy
