I am looking to get a backup camera installed on my 2015 Ram Bighorn 1500 however my truck didn’t come with a backup camera originally and unsure if it is possible to make it work on my head unit (stock smaller size headunit).

If you are able to provide some advice/feedback on this install if you have attempted/done it yourself that would be greatly appreciated!

If your truck is a Bighorn the smallest radio it would have come with would be the 5" RA2 which is compatible for the backup Camera. You can buy the factory backup camera and install it yourself as several have done. You would then need take your truck to the dealer and have them activate the code in order for it to work. You can also just have the dealer install it and activate the code for you whichever you prefer. There are also tools available you can use to activate the code yourself but since it doesn't seem that you're into that as much I would recommend just having the code activated. Installing the camera is not to difficult as long as you closely follow the directions. There are also a couple of videos on YouTube you can watch that are helpful and can kind of let you see if you want to try installing it yourself.

Thank you for the feedback Rick. Im not to worried about having to install it myself if someone might be able to point me in the direct of where to purchase the correct parts? Also, I am going to reach out to my dealer to see about pricing on the install.

You can find them for sale on eBay quite a bit. I recommend making sure you buy the factory backup camera not aftermarket. I would also recommend contacting (AllMoparParts.com) and talk to Benny who is a vendor on the Forum. You can find him in the vendor section. Benny will get you all set up and give you a great price he takes good care of us.
