2015 paint issue?

i took delivery of my 2015 express 2 weeks ago.. i went into the bed for the first time to put on my bed cover and i looked down and theres a paint chip (about the size of a dime) in the bed (it almost looks like there was something on the bed that caused the paint to chip off).. mind you this is the first time ive stepped foot in the bed since i took delivery of it..

i called my dealer yesterday and they said for me to bring the truck down for them to take pictures and send them in to be looked at..

is this something that others have had an issue with being a brand new truck ?

Ram has had paint issues for the last few years. Chips, thin paint, paint not covering all body parts and plenty of complaints regarding orange peel. Owners have gone back to the dealers and some have had some success in having the paint repaired and others have not had much success, Every case is different. Some blame it on the new water base paint, but I believe it has more to do with lack of quality control and some employees not giving a ****. Bottom line is===generally speaking the paint on the Rams suck. There are some exceptions but they are the really lucky ones.

I had paint bubble up on my driver's side fender from contamination while painting. Dealer had the fender changed and been ok since. The whole paint job though is nothing to write home about compared to the paint jobs other manufacturers put on similarly priced vehicles.

You would think for 40-50k that quality control would be higher.. I guess they're trying so hard to be number one in truck sales that they're cutting corners and trying to make up for it with incentives...

I'm going to try and work in a bed liner for the truck from the dealer instead of trying to get them to repaint a section of my bed.. Imo, it's worth a shot to try and see if they'll make it right..

It almost looked like bird crap and when I went to scrape it off with my fingernail, the paint chipped off.. I have a feeling more paint will chip off soon, it almost looks like there was either something under the paint, or some sort of paint thinner sitting on that spot for a while.. The surrounding area looks fragile
