Hey guys, I put this build on diyma and just joined here so I thought I would post here. I have been a jeep man for many years, but my Cherokee couldn't pull my camper around so it was time for a truck, but not just any truck I wanted a Ecodiesel I wanted one since the first time I heard they were coming out. Now a 2015 RAM ecodiesel sits in my driveway.

So after 5 years of enjoying the system in the jeep its time to configure a new system. The plan right now consist of blaupunkt VC660 components, Lunar L450 and L1500 amps, custom WMD shallow mount 12", AudioControl DQ-61, and a Critical Mass P3-GTX TUBE pre amplifier. I haven't truly decided how complex I am going as of yet, but I do know I need a fiberglass box to fit in the under seat tub area, so might as well get that out the way. I went back and forth on 1 sub or 2. As we all know bigger is better right? so I was going with 2, but as it turns out my buddy was making one for his same truck. since he was going with only 1 sub and he was already setup to make his I just went with 1 also. much easier to make 2 when you are already setup. so 1 12" it is. Thanks Mike

Thanks for all the positive comments. Now on to the more unexciting part of the build, The doors. I did pull the door panel off and I must say it's one of the easiest door panels I have ever pulled. Just a few screw clips and one screw behind the door Handel. Anyone afraid to upgrade their speakers due to fear of removing the door. Dont be super easy so far.

Looking good! The doors are pretty easy to get the panels off. The wiring through the boots takes a little patience if you are rewiring but easy enough. Where are you mounting your tweets?

yea been staring at those boots and trying to convince myself not to run the wires through them. I can see them being a pain in the :roflsquared:
as for the tweeters they are going in the dash and if I don't like them there ill try the sail panel. but with my time alignment I should be able to get them to sound good in the dash so well see.

I started making the adapters during the week after work. These poor little ulgy scraps will become beautiful. Lol

I absolutely love the invention of the rotozip.

A little test fitting before I get started on them.

Got everything cut and drilled. I painted the back side of the plexiglass so when mounted it will just look like black glossy plexiglass. Looks really nice.

Got the first door buttoned up. It's a shame we put in time and effort to make things look nice and the components themselves are beautiful, all to never be seen again. Lol

Any sound deadening? I was able to get two 16 gauge wires through my front doors with an old wire coat hanger pretty easy not sure about the rear doors I don't have any lol.

I was going to put some sound deadening but its so quiet already I didn't feel the need to. but I can always change my mind and add some if needed. and thanks for letting me know its not to hard to pass the wires through the boot with a hanger. that was my plan I just figured it would be difficult as most are.

Trying to decide on how to mount the tweeters then decided that when chrystler gives you lemons, make lemonade. Lol. That old junk 3.5" speaker made a perfect tweeter pod.

Funny you did that, my lead installer taught me that trick. I am personally not a fan of it if the speakers are good, but if the speakers are blown I am all for it. They make perfect pods!
