Hello, so I have a 2015 Ram 1500 with the 3.0 diesel engine. The cooling fan runs wide open after a few seconds of engine startup. I still have good readings for the oil and coolant temps. Plugged in Alpha OBD and live data shows ECM commanding 57% output to the cooling fan. Signal wire from fan to ECM is good. I do have a P0533 for AC pressure signal circuit high. Alpha OBD did confirm a very high number in the live data. Could that possibly be causing the ECM to send the PWM signal out to run the fan at high speed even with the HVAC & compressor off? Unplugged the AC pressure switch and Alpha is still showing a very high number coming from circuit.
Truck hit a deer and busted the condenser/trans cooler. The condenser side was still charged with freon. Everything was normal with cooling fan and the ac worked before hitting the deer. Now the fan runs wide open when engine is running and temps showing 20 degrees. I have not charged the ac system yet. Put truck on lift and can't find any damaged wires/harnesses. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated! Thanks
