So, i have 40k miles on my truck. I know this problem exists with other ram owners and its insane that my truck sounds like im closing the doors on a rusted out 1970's pick up. I've sprayed it with multiple lubricants ( wd40, white lithium grease and so on). I made sure to get the little roller, the bananna looking thing and anything else that has a moving joint. After a few days, maybe a week, it comes back. I even tried a few drops of motor oil hoping it would lubricate the roller better........it was actually the worst of all the lubes i tried.

Anybody with this problem found a long term solution that works?

Lithium grease worked perfect on mine...make sure you work it into the middle area

My wife's GMC was doing the same thing until I added some lithium grease to the roller pin on the hinge.

Mine starting doing this too. Year old truck rust proofed twice now. Oh well, sounds like a truck I guess. I feel like a cowboy when I get in my old pick up truck. Only it’s new and way more money.

WD40 is a penetrating oil not really a "lubricant".

No offense, but I think you actually have it backwards. WD40 makes an actual penetrant that is labeled as a specialist penetrant, the regular WD40 is more of a lubricant (even if it is labeled as a penetrant). Not a great one, but it is.

That video referenced above is 100% spot on. Sprayed my squeaky driver's door with PB Blaster white lithium grease. Actually made the squeak slightly worse! Tried Knock'er Loose penetrant, as that is what I had on hand besides the grease, and solved it for about two weeks. Then it came back. Hit it again, and it has been squeak free now for about three weeks. If it happens again, I'm going to try Amsoil's MP stuff.

I’ve tried just about everything on my 2014....it lasts 3-4 weeks and comes right back.

What about trailer bearing grease? I have lots and should try that. Tacky as ****. Won’t wash off or drip [emoji12]
