I installed new rear shocks on my truck today (Bilstein 5100) and was surprised at how small the rear sway bar looks in comparison to the rest of the truck. It doesn't look very heavy duty. The truck has been mine for years and I never noticed I guess. I'm not sure what I expected but wondered if an upgrade was in order.

I have the Factory 20" wheels so I think that means I have the factory lift. Not sure but I remember seeing it was 1 1/2 or 2" of lift. I saw some sway bars that say they are for 2 to 4" lift, Is that what I need? What specific parts should I look at? I would appreciate any advice.

Most people go for this bar

Hellwig

Others like this one.

Roadmaster

Personally I have multiple rams and have both. I like the roadmaster best vs the hellwig. You might be able to find the hellwig used on marketplace or other trading sites. If you want the roadmaster you probably need to buy new as I've never seen a used one.

Or you might consider the 2500 bar if you have access to a salvage yard

Thanks! I may try salvage yards for the 2500 part. If that will fit it will be a lot cheaper and I am guessing a thicker bar.
Usually you need to make 2 small plates that bolt to the original holes of the mount, and relocate the mounting holes slightly to the side to bolt the 2500's bar on.Easily done, and it's a good upgrade that's cheaper then the aftermarket bars,if you find one in a wrecking yard or from somebody parting out a 2500.Check your local market place/ craigslist for 2500's being parted out,as alot of times you can get the bar from a local truck being parted out cheaper, then you can from a wrecking yard.
