58k on Longhorn hemi crew.
There are lots of posts talking about rotary shift knobs stuck in park.

Some guys got new shift selectors, some got new valve bodies.

Anyone experienced no reverse, or no forward gear engagement?

Have also experienced tyranny slippage 1 to 2, or 2 to 3. Ocassional slippage downshift 3 to 2.

Took to Whitten Brothers Ram in Richmond Va. Nice folks but They just looked for codes, and never drove my truck to diagnose. Thus problem continues. Hard to believe that meets the standards of FCA. Fear this 1500 will leave me stranded

Yes, I am on vacation in Bar Harbor, Maine. Now I am stuck because the truck started acting up 2 days ago. First I noticed it seemed to be stuck in a higher gear and it did not down shift when I got off on an exit for a food break. While on break I called dealerships trying to find a place that could look at the issue. However, none of the dealerships had openings and none had a clue what the issue might be unless I brought it in and the checked for codes, again they wanted me to drop it off and it might be seen in 2 weeks, not an option. When I went out and started the truck it started and shifted without any problem (fixed itself). I drove to Bar Harbor to visit Arcadia National park and after leaving the visitor center I heard and felt a clunk in the transmission, I was able to crawl forward out of traffic but it was clearly in a higher gear. I managed to stop in a pull over. Hoping it would fix itself again I put it in park and cut the engine. I tried to restart it and that is when the selector stopped working. The truck starts and runs great, but an error states "4 wheel drive i temporarily unavailable". Then when I try to shift the message states "turn to P and then select gear" R, N, and D the light only blinks and does not go into gear. I had to have it towed to a dealership and by then they were closed and they wont look at it until Monday if they have time. Any ideas as to what caused this?
