Looking at doing the radio upgrade to enable CarPlay, etc. I’m finding replacement LCD displays are readily available online. Do I need to replace the entire radio unit with the more recent version, or do I just need to replace the LCD display? (I will also update the USB module). If the display is the only thing I need, then does anyone have experience with the aftermarket models available on Amazon, eBay, etc? Are they comparable to the OEM displays? My truck is the 2017 Laramie 1500. Thanks for any help here.

You need a 8.4 full radio, look at www.car-parts.com, I recommend a 2019 or newer from a classic Ram, not sure if Gen 5 2019+ radios will work. 2018 8.4 had problems with delamination. You will also need a new bezel you might find in here in for sale section, or Infotainment.com has them with and without volume control (I recommend with, what I did and worth it). You also need a harness to connect post-2018 radio to pre-2018 truck, you can order from @Mpgrimm2 at M²Mods in vendor section. And if don't have steering wheel volume controls you need those as well, order from Benny at All Mopar Parts in vendor section (think part number is wheelaudkit). Read post in Gen 4 about upgrading radio. Good luck.

See post # 4024 in last page, maybe you can get some assistance from a search already completed. UAS doesn't have navigation (which I recommend, just use your phone's maps and always be up to date) and UAQ has navigation.

And now Infotainment is a preferred vendor. I recommend looking elsewhere for a radio though, their prices are a bit high even though they rebuild and test. https://www.ramforum.com/threads/pl...ns-here-were-happy-to-meet-all-of-you.214273/
