Looking to purchase a 2017 Ram 1500 Sport R/T 4X2 regular cab .. mileage is 2660 ..
Question: at 269 miles the driveshaft was replaced and has not been back at the dealer since .. IS THIS a reason to run away ? AND is ' vibration '
in the driveshaft a common or not so common problem .. thank you

Others will definitely opine on the hand grenade driveshaft we have, but I have a preowned 2017 R/T 2WD with 44k miles. From my research due to the same concerns just after purchase, it seems the critical failure point is around 130mph and 5,350 rpms (I think).

Anyway, while I love romping the pedal, I don’t have enough roads close by to practically apply a mph greater than 100...as such, I don’t worry about it at all. I also don’t have plans to drag strip it, so no worries there.

I’ve also read that lowering the truck at all exasperates the issue and will be likelier to happen.

I probably won’t lower so no big deal there. Others will chime in, hope this helps.
