I am wondering if I can safely use a Michelin LTX all season 265 70R18 new tire on my current rims, which are 265 70R17.

I have a chance to get these new tires at a very good rate, but I need to know if they would actually fit my current rims and if its advisable to do so.

appreciate advice on this

Your current rims are not "265 70R17" as that is a tire size. If that is the size of the tires on your current rims, then that indicates you have 17" rims.

If you are looking to put 18" tires on 17" rims that won't work.
