2017 Ram 1500 5.7 After several months of trying to chase down a fuel related starting issue, I took it to a mechanic who replaced the fuel pump control module.
I asked him if the new unit needed to reprogrammed, and he said it did not. I'm not sure if this is correct. It did not fix the problem. Does the new module need to reprogrammed?

Link1 sorry for the late response. I don’t know exactly what fuel related issues you had but my 2013 Ram Sport would sputter and quit. Sometimes wouldn’t start at all. The codes I had P0628, P064 and U109 pointed to the fuel pump controller. I replaced it and solved the problem, no more codes and runs well again. I can confirm that there’s no programming necessary.
