Well, Im desperate now. I've exhausted myself from searching for information on the compatibility of other models/years, driver door, to that of a 2017 Ram 1500 Express Crew Cab.
Here's the story..
A few MONTHS ago, yes MONTHS, I was having a dope ass time, shredding up the pristine, trash littered, mountains of Palmdale, Ca., in my Brand New, Sweet ass Ram. (I'd had two previously but this one takes the cake.) It was the first big rain we'd had in a long time, I decided... MUDDING. Stock. 3 splash guards a temp sensor later, I was filthy, sliding sideways in to the ONLY POLE FOR 5 miles, and just obliterated my driver door. Now, covered in glass, furious, and reeeaallly not wanting to make an insurance claim because i'd just settled a 1,000,000 Dollar Lawsuit, like 2 months before this, ( Yes, I'm a total ******* ) I wanted to fix it myself.
No big deal, I figured. Just pull the door, find a used one, little paint, little slide-hammerin' the quarter panel under the door, little bondo, little more paint, and Boom. No one knows a thing. Well, ****...I couldnt have been MORE wrong about that.
Not only was it borderline impossible to find a part ANYWHERE, Mopar said $875 FOR THE SHELL (AHAHAHA) SURE.
Next plan was hit up Ye olde Pick yer part, and again, a roadblock. Wait, NO ONE WRECKS BRAND NEW, Paid off 100%, Ram 1500's.... Maybe another model is compatible. Well, Mopar said "Go eff yourself, we're not telling you a damn thing! except... we have 1 shell in stock for $875, plus 350 for the outer shell, 300 for a mirror, 200 for window glass, and 1000 for misc stuff.
So, I said f**k it, I'm going on eBay, letgo, parting out, car id, and hell, I'll walk the street servicing lonely truckers if i have to. I'm not paying 1.7 billion dollars for a door.
Now, my question, does anyone, for the love of all things lifted, know if any other ram years have the same door? Are all 4th gens the same? Does a 2 door have the same driver door as a quad/crew?
And finally, why is mopar such a douche about helping people who don't need their fancy shop to fix their trucks?! i'm already Loyal, NOT a 76 year old woman, and YES Mopar, I WANT accessories, but won't buy them from you...unless they come with a free wiring diagram! ahahaha kidding.
