Here is my journey installing a 2018 UAQ radio on a 2018 Ram 1500 with a RA2 Radio.

Oh I forgot to say that the Hotspot in the truck works great and as of now I did not have to add a extra cell antenna for it to work.

He had a 2018 RAM (or a 19 Classic) with the security module that prevents programming changes via AlfaOBD (to enable ATC). See Alfaobd link for details...

I see you are missing the colored connectors on the back of the radio. Didn't know if you saw this post for the extensions to use in that situation. Or if we posted the info for you previously ...

Yes I saw the post after I bought a older radio (ra1) and popped off the ones I needed.

UPDATE: The WiFi hotspot keeps dropping signal so I’m trying a 4g Lte Car antenna to see if the signal strength stays high. I have attached pictures of the antenna and the install, will update in a few days. Oh it is connected to the purple plug on the back of the radio.

I just did this to my 2019 ram classic that I originally had an Ra1 in. I upgraded originally to a Uaq then I sold it to get other truck parts so I ended putting a Vp4 in my truck. I recently got my hands on a UAS and installed it and I didn't need to get the premium media hub. I have the one in your pic that says usb on one side and has the icon on the other. I plugged my phone to the icon side and android auto started right up. So just thought I throw that out there because that's a savings of $100.

At the very least I suggest anyone doing this mod in an 18-19 ram/ram classic to try there current hub first.

FYI,
The base model 18/19 classic USB hub will work for Android Auto .... those that want to use Apple CarPlay must get the one of the 2 premium USB hubs listed in the UAQ upgrade thread (Apple folks always pay more for some reason).

so according to the parts dept at the dealership, according to my VIN, I can't install this radio and they recommended I go aftermarket
