Looks like a recall is here . I just got this from the NHTSA app on my Phone

Mine, has not failed but i figure it seemed so rampant that i might as well just do it. Its time for the brake fluid to be changed anyways....

Was scheduled to take truck in for this very repair next week. Service told me today I would have to pay for it since no fix is listed on the recall. I just looked it up and the recall does list a "fix".

I had this failure in 2021 on my 2018 2500, they replaced HCU (68143491-AA) and ABS module (68347098-AB). Knock on wood no problems since.

I just got the recall letter today. It says no fix is available. To quote: “The remedy for this condition is not currently available.”

Mine was diagnosed August of '22 the dealer said new modules would be available soon.. then available fall of '23, then Feb of '24. My HCU failed completely August '23 then started cycling late Nov '24. The fuse puller couldn't hold the fuse, it was -4F out so I took side cutters to it. Felt like it was glued in so destroyed the fuse trying to remove it. Its what happens at 2am on a roadtrip. I have lights on in the dash but the *$&*@ is quiet!

This is not entirely true. Mine had this problem in 2022, of which I had to pay to have it fixed FCA did reimburse me for this in March of 2025 BUT I now have the same warning notification happening on March 10, 2025. Took it into the dealership and they confirmed that the previous repair that was completed PRIOR to the recall, which is not a failure risk is not covered and FCA will NOT pay to have the FAILED previous attempt to fix my truck is now MY PROBLEM.

Just got some news that FCA recalled 3500 box for the second time. Seems like the first repairs/replacements DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM.
I was told "hang tight the 2500 should be next" for the second attempt to correct the first recall.
Hope you'll are hammering the dealerships and the NHTSA with complaints.

"Certain" vehicles. They don't disclose the VIN list.

Hey, just adding my experience to all you owners out there. Most of us received the recall letter for the anti-lock brake/HCU issue. I received mine a few months ago but I had already had my 2018 repaired at the dealer several years ago. I thought they would never make good on my repair but sice it was over $2K I would try anyway.
Since it was a few years since the repair I had misplaced my repair invoice and had to get a copy from the dealer (the biggest challenge of the process). I then needed to complete the online forms and upload the requested info.
I'm happy to report I just received an email from customer care that my claim was approved and would be receiving a check within 30 days for the entire amount spent on the repair.
Although this issue was very common, expensive and dangerous and should have been a recall long ago or at least covered by the company I'm still shocked they made good on it. If you have already had the repair made "out of pocket" don't hesitate to follow through with customer care!

I just had mine start going crazy on my 2017 2500, blinking in and out. It blinked out as I was going around a curve on an unfamiliar road. Saw a HUGE pothole as I straightened out from the curve. Whent to slow down the abs/ stability warning came on, tires locked up. Hit hard enough with the front tires locked that the adjustment bolt that connects the front axle to the frame sheared on the left side. I think that had the wheel not locked, the bolt wouldn't have sheared. As it was, I had to replace the bolts and now need an alignment. A fix for this needs to be forthcoming quickly. @RamCares - note above a member with a 2017 Ram 2500 had an ABS failure.

I also have a 2017 Ram 2500 and have not received a recall notice. Can you check my vehicle VIN?

@RamCares Any update on when we can get our faulty parts replaced! My dealer has no idea and cannot get parts, they told me they cannot buy or sell my truck due to this failure, and that if I’m involved in an accident and die due to this part failure, my wife will just have to work it out with Stellantis.

What kind of 3rd world monkey crap is this?

I agree with what kind of 3rd world monkey crap is this. My 2018 Ram 2500 has been binning at me for 2 years now. No replacement available yet????? This is crazy. I just had the emissions recall fixed and the dealer has no clue when the ABS parts will be available. I hope nobody gets killed while waiting for the parts.

@sks0102

The AB part is available online right now and at a much lower price then a year ago. Some people say the AB part will eventually fail too, but I had a diesel shop replace mine and was reimbursed via the recall. Here is one such link to the partl
