2018 RAM Tradesman 3.6L V6 Center Console USB Media HUB

My USB media port no longer works.

Are there any things that I can test/check to feel confident that the problem is a faulty USB Media HUB?

I was thinking about just ordering a New USB Media Hub and replacing it to see if that would fix the problem. I would like to have a higher confidence level about a faulty HUB being the problem before ordering/replacing it.

It appears to me that this is the correct part number. Is this part number correct?

Hub Media Center - Mopar (68328704AD)

Thanks in Advance.

Have you tried a different phone or media device and a high quality cable to see if anything connects? If different set ups don't work then possibly is the hub. The USB plugs can be damaged due to repeated connection, especially since the hub connections face opposite the way you would connect a device.

In my 2018 I use a 6' high quality cable and coil about 2' at the hub and tape it to the bottom of the inside console. This ensures I don't rely on the hub connection point to be the support for the cable

Good luck.

That looks like the right part. What do you mean when you say the hub is no longer working? Does it charge a device still? Does the AUX port work?

Where do you make the connections? Pull the radio unit out and connect to the back?

My USB Flash Drive is not recognized. I purchased a new USB Flash Drive, made sure that the formatting was correct, copied my mp3's over to it, plugged it in and it is still not recognized.

I have not yet charged anything.

Plug your phone in and see what happens. What size was the USB drive you're trying to use?

I tested the charging of all USB ports (including the one in the dash) with my cell phone. My cell phone shows charging on all of them.

The installed media USB flash drive is 64 GB. I found this USB media flash drive in the charging port. I guess that I put it there by mistake. I moved the flash drive to the USB data port but it still didn't work. I place the old USB drive in the data port and it works now. I checked the formatting of the old USB drive and found it to be FAT32. The formatting of the 64 GB flash drive was exFAT. I formatted the 64 GB drive to FAT32,
reloaded my mp3 files on it and tested it in the RAM's media hub data port and it works
with the FAT32 format.

Thanks everyone for your help. I guess that in the future, I need to format all USB media flash drives to FAT32 before loading media files on them.
