2019 2500 6.4 or 2018 6.4?

WOW! For some reason I didn't realize how close the numbers were on those two engines.
I was actually a bit shocked they were that close too. Before I bought my mine, I did a lil research. I dont haul/carry much, just household/yard stuff. So a 1500 w/5.7 works for me. Now a 6.4 sounds beastly until you look at how much more the 2500 weighs and then those performance numbers dont seem so beastly anymore. But for towing/hauling its different.

When do they expect to get 19's on the lot with the 6.4? I've seen at least one new truck out on the streets but didn't get close enough to see which engine it had. I'd sure want to drive something with the 8 speed first before committing.

The gas 2500's are already hitting dealers. I've seen a few post's of them already. No Cummins have been delivered yet so if you see anything it's a gas truck.

Edit: Well I just look at another post and a guy just got his Cummins delivered today so guess those are hitting the dealers now also. That's the first one I have seen

A member just posted his 19 2500 Cummins a few minutes ago

Yep, just saw it. That's the first one I have seen. I know there are people on the cummins forum still waiting, no one over there has gotten one or seen one on the lot.

Interesting. My 2016 has the shark fin between the lights but it's a smaller version and doesn't have the second antenna up there? It looks like there is no traditional radio antenna either. Must be incorporated in one of those on the roof?

They put the fin in front because those that put overhead campers on their trucks lost all the signals. Since it is in the front where else would they have put it up there?

3/4 tons have always been that way.
The 1500s built at the Saltillo, Mexico plant(where the HD trucks are built) have the shark fin antenna in the same location.

The dealers are saying they can’t order until mid May. Anyone else order one yet?

Even more frustrating, you still can't configure a 2019 HD on the Ram website. Hard to believe we are almost in Q2 and they haven't updated their site yet.

Has anyone towed with 2019 6.4 yet? My 2016 6.4 struggles up some hills with 3.73 & 7000lb TT

This the is question I cant get answered. I've seen a review on the new power wagon and it gets much better mpg and is a lot quicker with the 8 speed, but no towing reviews.

Probably not worth the cost for me to trade tomorrow, but I’ll ask any how! I don’t want a payment, but if it’ll make my trips significantly less stressful on the hills I’d consider

As far as towing with the PW you can expect it to be subpar compared to the standard HD 2500 solely because of the suspension differences.
