I'm sure I can't be the only one checking the values of our trucks on edmunds/nada/blue book etc. I can't believe what the claimed value is. Has anyone traded recently and experienced dealers giving you anywhere close to the estimated value? My lease is up soon and honestly if the truck will really bring as much $$ as I'm seeing I will buy it out.

I test drove a 2017 Limited 2500 with the Cummins, truck only had 35k on it. Dealership was selling it for 55k and offered me 48k on trade in with no dickering. I of course was not interested and kept my 2019 6.4. I think the current gen trucks are holding their value because of limited supply and high demand. I expect that to change next year.

While not a 5th gen I have a 2016 Ram 1500 Sport 4x4 that I check often and just kick tires with dealers.

My truck is very clean and well maintained with 93,000km(57,000miles). My most recent trade in offer from the dealership was $27,500. I only owe $18,200 on it so not too bad I would say.

No, they’re holding their value because of the CD player! Can’t get ‘em in a Silverado, nobody wants the engine attached to the CD player of an F-150! ;-)

Used truck values are favorable to sellers right now because of covid. Not a lot of new 2021's on lots right now, and there is a shortage of used because of that. Things will likely to change next year, but if you're in the market for trading in or selling it's a good time to do that right now.

I didn't think about this for you guys that leased. Truck values are so crazy high right now, your residual values might be a total bargain.

Even if you don't care to keep it and you don't mind swinging the residual/buyout, you could turn right around and sell for a profit.

Anyone else had trouble being able to put in their configuration to get a valid market value? It won't let me select both the sport appearance and off road group on kbb. My window sticker was $60k and the closest I can get it on the site is around $55k.
