127 views and no replies.... I guess we are all wondering the same thing :)

Come on!! Somebody must have towed with one. In reality, I should closed this thread and never look back because I'm afraid reading it once people start reporting is going to be REALLY expensive!

Just took the Ram 2500 6.4 Hemi out for her break in tow miles. Towing 5th wheel at 14,500 pounds, with 3000 pound pin weight. She did ok, but living in Florida no big hills to climb. Staying at or under 50 mph was a little tough. No sway from semi trucks passing. Using tow/haul mode, first and second are geared pretty low with short rpm band, 3rd, 4th and 5th gear have a broader rpm band and the truck will really pick up speed. Traveling at 50 mph the truck remained in 7th gear. Overall very satisfied coming from a Ram 3500 CTD Dually.

KMC- That's awesome to hear! Do you have 3.73s or 4.10s?

The people that have towed that weight with the old transmission usually don’t say overall very satisfied. I mean the motor isn’t super strong for that weight so it takes the excellent gear stepping to move it well.

I tow TTs commercially with a tuned ED 465TQ 565,000 miles on the ZF 8speed no repairs only 5 fluid changes. Only ever towed 9,100 but great trans.

I brought a 7500lb TT from Idaho to FL with my 2019 Laramie 6.4. Plenty of power for mountains and 9.5 mpg out of mountains @ 60-65 mph. Very happy with the truck. I'm shopping for a fifth wheel in the 10,000-11,000 lb range. May add Timbrens. Truck has a great radio.

first real pull of the new 5er .. 2019 Cougar 29rdb .. weight around 10,000 #s .. B&W Companion hitch ... took it to the central Pa mtns for a 4 day CAS ... from south of Lancaster along the river and west on Rt 322 to Newport then southwest on Rt 34 into the mtns.. overall about 250 total miles and got 9.5 mpg (HC) had to use 4x4 high to go uP a steep dirt road to the range/campsite .... only spun a VERY little near the top ... when on the hi-way you had to look in the mirrors to tell it was there ... great trip ... trk did better than expected .... will have to learn how to back the 5er up cause this is really different than a TT
