4in super lift K119b with bilstein's @ 2.1. Some of the hardware and the instructions were kinda sketchy, turned out good. The rear coils gave the correct amount of lift but are super soft. I can push down the bumper by hand and when I let go it bounces a couple times before it stops. Has anyone else experienced this? I can feel it driving and the truck really squats on take off. Not happy with it like that, any suggestions to stiffen up the rear?

Bilstein came with the kit.
Bilsteins are an add on option for the kit in the rear. The front comes with the kit rears are optional. Post some pictures of the rear suspension maybe something is off?

Looks good! 35” ridge grapplers? Wheel spacers?

Pushing down on the rear bumper should yield some compression...but I wouldnt think it should be bouncing, especially with brand new shocks.

Agreed , I don't think it should bounce either....working with super lift something seems off with the rear bilstein part #'s. Tires are 295/65 factory wheels no spacers. Tires going back to discount tire, 50-70mph they randomly shake the whole truck but smooth out @80mph. I've had them balance 3x. Had them order cooper stt pros. I shure hope they are better.

Which way did you install the rear shocks. Only reason I ask is I also installed a superlift on my half ton and it didn't really specify which way they should go. The first time i installed them they were upside down. Apparently the valving is different going one way versus the other. It makes a world of difference when they are installed correctly.

Can't load pics @ the moment. Yes they are what you would consider upside down. Bilstein site says to mount according to the label and part number orientation, wich I did and superlift confirmed they can be installed either way. They will be sending a new set of bilstein rears when back in stock (march). I find it hard to believe 2 bad shocks out of the box....

Should the control arms been tightened before all of the weight was back on the rear axle to create some pre tension?

Control arms should be tightened with tires on ground under its own weight

Ok that's what I did, just trying to eliminate possible causes. Thanks.

I replaced the superlift rear coil springs with the factory + 3in spacer and problem solved. Not quite as stiff as it was before the lift, but close enough. The superlift springs were very soft or they were the wrong ones. Hope this helps somebody else down the road that may experience the same problem.

A shop did that on my first lift. I ended up flipping them myself.

I'm tempted to try the factory shocks with the bracket extensions, they have lot more resistance vs the bilstein compressing them on the workbench?

I can tell you they are not. When mine were flipped they used to make all this weird noise going over washboard like surfaces.

For anyone re

bilstein clearly states on all their products they should be mounted so you can read the labels. The stickers will never be upside down. Also get a set of the upper shock nuts that make your job easier.
https://www.thurenfabrication.com/09-18-1500-shock-nut-set.html
money well spent and should be incorporated into all builds
