After 8,000 miles and some off roading in the Ozarks and Ouray Co, I thought I would share my comparison between my Power Wagon and the Gen1 Raptor I traded for it. Initial driving comparisons to the Raptor was how much more tank-like the PW felt on the road. I felt like I was driving something more sturdy and solid.
I am extremely happy with the PW and over all it is superior to my Gen1 Raptor on road and off road. The front and rear locker on the forestry roads above Ouray, Co was noticeably superior to my old rig. I didnt do anything too difficult as I want to get some paint protection on the truck prior to doing some hard stuff. A couple of likes on the PW are the auto dimmers and the bumpers lights that come on during a turn. The 12" nav screen is growing on me as I kind of like more push buttons, but the wife really likes it. I like the Ram boxes but they are kind of a two edge sword when it comes to bed covers, racks etc. The ram boxes give you less choices for those items and the cost is higher.
I havnt had any major truck issues, with the exception of the tailgate lock. It quit working and I havnt had time to run it into the dealer.
The Toyo 35s do not rub anywhere I can tell and I havnt adjusted my speedometer. I just keep in mind that Im running a little faster than my speedometer on the hwy. I also havnt noticed any performance lag due to the larger tires. I was in low range for a few hours on some forestry roads and didnt notice any issues due to the 35s.
I do plan on going to 37s on +20-25 offset rims in the near future for appearance sake primarily. The wheel wells look like they need more tire. That's down the road as I want to get onboard air and a larger fuel tank first. The PW will be a never ending project as $$ becomes available. Sliders, bumpers, bedrack, roof rack, etc.
We do a lot of camping and are using a ground tent for me and the wife has an air mattress for the front seat. I have used an air mattress in the back seat on one camping trip and it was very comfortable. I am 5'9" and there was just enough room to stretch out.
Fuel mileage has been from 10.9 off roading to 15.1 on 86 octane at high altitude. Generally, Im in the 13s for normal driving or almost the same as my old raptor.
Overall, I rate this truck 10 out of 10 and plan on having it a very long time.
