i am a former owner of a 2nd gen 2001 ram 2500. I sold the truck a bit over a year ago now. I had owned it 23 years. I bought it new in 2000 knowing it would see me into retirement and it did 8yrs into retirement.

Looking to buy a used 2020-22 gen 5 1500 laramie 4wd crewcab. It will be the last truck I buy before I give up my DL.

Drove a couple of laramie's gen5 and absolutely liked the ride and how quiet the trucks are. HOWEVER reading some of these threads seeing heater core issues puts me off. My 01 ram's heater core required replacement after 10yrs of ownership. Yeah I know all of them require maintenance. but of all the other mfg trucks I have owned never once had a heater core replaced. It is sad these trucks seem to be plagued with the same issue 20+ years later. I know this may seem minor to some but now on fixed income something like this is a major issue. Not to mention if you get the etorque with the 48v battery which I will not be looking at one of those. Thanks everyone.

Get a Classic. No etorque. No leaking rear window. If you shop around there are still some new 2024 Classics sitting on dealer lots. If you like the Warlock look those are easy to find.

Agreed.
A 4th Gen Classic with a solid rear window can still be had new (and no etorque), and at better pricing vs a 5th Gen.
