2022 Ram 1500 lift

Hey all, want to lift my truck 5-6”. New to this….what all do I need to get? Currently stock rims are 18” was thinking I need 20”. Not sure about offset or if I need shocks??

Rim size doesn't have to change to lift the truck, there used to be 12" lifts on trucks running 16" rims rolling 40" tires. The larger diameter the rim, usually the tire cost is higher for a similar overall diameter.

Let's see if @Quick_Shifter chimes in. He probably the best resource for lifting these trucks on this forum. He owns a 4X4 shop in Pennsylvania, if your close it's probably well worth the trip to go see him

Lifts are normally in the form of kits that come with longer shocks. Wheels are opted for because most aftermarket wheels look better than factory and pushing the wheel out from under the truck makes lifted trucks a little more stout. There is a lot of reading to do because once you go to a 6” lift there is no going back. What I have most people that are new do is to send me pictures of trucks they like the look of

Just saw Nick’s post that your in PA, I would strongly recommend a visit to Quick_Shifter’s shop -ak_trucks_ pa.
I’m in Va & his is the only shop I trust with my truck, you’ll never hear “should be ok or close enough, it is right or it isn’t.
