2025 1500- What is this 'tool' in glove box?

Anyone know what this is? I expect it is some kind of special tool head
for a part with a non-standard fitting. This was in a plastic bag in my glove box in my 2025 1500 Tungsten.

Looks like a locking lug nut key. Does your truck have locking lug nuts?

IF there is a way to view the lowering device for the Spare Tire.
That may be you mystery tool adaptor ??

Maybe, the Tool Kit under the passenger seat, is all that you need.

IF YOU have not lowered your Spare Tire yet.
Maybe you ought to lower it in your Driveway,
instead of having to change a tire between towns

Is there a part number on the plastic bag? Do an online search.

Did you ask or email your sales person?

The beauty / sound cover on the engine of my 2014 Impala LTZ (new model) requires a torx bit to remove it. Could this tool fit a special fastener on the engine cover?

It's to small to be for a locking wheel nut,so it's probably for the spare tire lock as BM stated.
Any wheel lock key is going to be the same size as your wheel nuts where you put a socket on it

Thanks for all the input. This truck does not have locking lug nuts. There is no part number on the tool or on the bag.

The possibility that it is for the spare tire removal sounds right. There is no mention of that in the owner's manual.

I will send the pics to my salesman and see if he knows.

On your wheels, one or all of your lug nuts is called a locking lug. You need to use that special "key" to remove the lug nut. Sometimes it's only 1 per wheel, sometimes it's all of the lugs.

When I had a ‘21 Challenger shaker it came with a special screwdriver to remove the 4 screws on the shaker.
But this tool you have gets indexed and then you need a wrench or socket too.
Can’t wait for the answer!

Most Salesmen, have never looked in the Glove Compartment.
Hardly any of them have owned a new vehicle, that could be bought at a Dodge Dealership

That is too small for a Lug nut key. It appears to be a security torx bit. In a previous post, someone noted the fastener for the engine cover or some sort of lock on the spare tire crank. I have never looked at a 2025 truck. Could it be some sort of fastener for the interior trim parts? That would be another WAG from me. It appears to be a quarter-inch fitting, so that would not stand the stress of the wheel torque; it would break. So something that has less torque, like trim pannels for the engine air filter cover, but my truck is a metric hex socket, not sure why they would change that bolt in the new engine.

It's for the spare tire winch. The rods in a bag under the seat with the jack will fit over the square end and the other into the carrier winch.

My thoughts. But wat do I know i’s a boird. Think BWL close, but not for the spare tire winch, but for a spare tire lock.

I respectfully disagree. I just checked my jack and I do not have that tool. The extension tubes assemble together and the square end of the extension fits onto a square fitting on the carrier winch. The OP's tool is not part of my jack system.

It looks more like a lug nut key to me, but every one I've ever seen is shaped like a regular tool socket.
